Day 55 "Utopia"~ YACHT

This took some time to do. I'd like to thank Ikea's magazine for providing me with the solid papers. Although I rushed the eye a bit being tired from the rest of this mess, This is a good example of me never being able to quite get my eye color (it is pretty close though, getting there). My eyes confused me for a while, then I decided that the color of my eye was a green/gold hazel. I probably sound like an idiot. "How can you be confused of your own eye color?" you are probably thinking. Well, when I was younger my eye color was more gold-ish, then in the 6th grade I noticed they were getting greener. Nowadays most of my iris is green but towards the pupil there is a smaller ring of gold. Now you are probably thinking "Sarah should probably shut up about her eyes". That is true. I like eyes. I draw them a lot. They interest me, they can give away a lot about a person. 'Windows to the soul'.

Day 54 "Nightcall"~ Kavinsky

I got this song off of the Drive soundtrack. If you have not seen the movie Drive I can not urge you enough to drop whatever you are doing and watch this movie. All the shots are beautiful, the soundtrack is great, great cast, I can go on forever on how good this movie is. It stars Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Ron Pearlman, Bryan Cranston, and Albert Brooks. It gave me a lot of respect for Ryan Gosling, I've only really known the movies he was in that are romance chick flicks (he kind of looks like he could be related to me on my dad's side of the family so I can't say I find him all that attractive but still, I respect him) this is much better than any chick flick. If it takes me to pay you to watch Drive I will (that is a lie don't expect me to give you money). Easily one of my favorite movies (probably 2nd favorite... Donnie Darko is my #1 favorite movie)

I actually used this picture for today's drawing

Day 53 "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark"~ Fall Out Boy

First single from Fall Out Boy since they came off hiatus! At first I liked but it has grown on me even more with time. I missed them so much. I already made a very lengthy blog post about this subject on my other blog so I won't go into great detail here.

Day 52 "Bike Ride" ~The Brobecks

A soul riding a bike through the good ol' neighborhood. I want to ride my bike listening to this song, I always forgot to bring my ipod on my bike rides. I drew hydrangeas in one of the bushes because one show I was watching called xxHolic the hydrangea flowers were considered spirit flowers.

Day 51 "Saturday Night" ~Misfits

One of those songs I can listen to on repeat for hours. Although the true meaning behind this song is the singer at the time Micheal Graves wanting to stop doing cocaine because his girlfriend, Amy broke up with him because he did it too much. However I hear a lot that it is about a guy who killed his girlfriend and gets sad and regrets it. So I played off that idea and had the guy sitting in a car on a cliff at night (you know, the usual) with his girlfriend's corpse still with him in the car.

Day 50 "How to be a Heartbreaker"~ Marina and the Diamonds

Oh Marina~
I have probably said it a million times but I love her attitude towards things/life. I might see her again in may!

watch her:

Day 49 "Video Games"~Lana Del Rey

I like Lana Del Rey in moderation. I didn't want the paints to go through to the next page so I made the background look the way it does.

Day 48 "Baby I'm Yours"~ Arctic Monkeys

Again with the horrible markers! The lovers are glowing~ I think this is a cute song. It reminds me of that scene in The Little Mermaid when Ariel and Prince Eric are on the canoe for some reason. It also reminds me of night boat rides on my lake in Vermont.

Day 47 "Adam's Song"~ Blink 182

Oh boy this is quite a sad song. Blink 182 can go from writing songs loaded with dick jokes and your mom to something as sad as Adam's Song. This song was inspired by an article about a teenager's suicide note to his parents. I can't think of a more heart breaking line than "Please tell mom this is not her fault". The song also references to the Nirvana song Come as You Are. In Come as You Are lyrics are "Take your time, hurry up, choice is yours, don't be late", Adam's song sort of responds to that with "I took my time, I hurried up, the choice was mine, I didn't think enough".

Day 46 "Rainy Day"~Animal Crossing Soundtrack

My art supplies are actually getting worse and worse and I'm too cheap to buy better quality at the moment. Sorry. I'm using crayola colored pencils and markers that are running dry. It looks like a kindergartner did this. **edit I just looked at it again, it looks better in person (*takes a huge sigh of relief*)

The reason there are no lyrics written is because... the are no lyrics! I think I like the music in Animal Crossing a lot more than I like most people. It is soothing and engraved into my brain because of the amount of hours I have spent playing Animal Crossing all throughout my childhood (and now). If you don't know what Animal Crossing is it is my favorite video game. You move to a town where everybody but you is an animal and everything is great. All you have to do is run around talk to your animal friends, fish, plant flowers, design clothes, furnish your house, pay off debts (and you don't even have to do that. You really don't have to do anything). This may sound boring but it's the best oh my god.
