Day 20 "My Way Home is Through You"~ My Chemical Romance

I'll let you in on a secret. I messed up the order I posted this in. This is actually day 18. I don't feel like changing everything so we'll call it day 20 but in the back of the back of your mind you know how it really is.
I like all the lyrics in this song. It is a B side to MCR's third album, The Black Parade. The guy there is Gerard way in his Black Parade uniform. He is like a superhero to me. I had the honor of meeting him at this year's New York Comic Con. He was there because he also writes and does art for comic books. It was unreal. I was never so terrified to meet anybody than I was him. It is because of My Chemical Romance, I am who I am today. You probably think that is crazy because the lyrics I present to you are "My gun fires seven different shades of shit" but it is true.

Here is a picture my friend took of me meeting him:

Day 19 "Oh No!"~ Marina and the Diamonds

I love all the lyrics to this song. Marina and the Diamonds is what every popstar should be like (if you didn't know she is one person, she says that her fans are the diamonds). She has attitude in the best way possible and she isn't fake about anything and her music is fantastic. I saw her live a couple weeks ago and she did not sound one bit different than from the album. She is a great performer, she carries props and even has a few costume changes.

Here is two pictures from when I saw her:

Her is the music video for this song:

Day 18 "National Anthem"~Lana Del Rey

I like Lana Del Rey's music but I can't listen to it for long periods of time. This kind of reminds me of that paper mache thing I did for the Seven Sins.

Day 17 "Folkin' Around"~ Panic! at the Disco

Sorry about the small hiatus. If I don't post every single day, I still draw a day everyday. One of my days reminded somebody of Sandy Hook so I wanted to take a week before posting. I drew it before the shooting but, out of respect I wanted to wait.

I hate how this day came out. The ink started running. Plus if you haven't noticed already, the sketchbook I draw this in doesn't take watercolors well. When I finish sketchbook I'll be sure to get a better one.

Other than that I love these lyrics. Panic! at this Disco is one of my favorite bands.

Day 16 "Itchin' on a Photograph"~ Grouplove

One of those songs that the chorus is just a burst of energy that makes me want to run outside in the rain and scream at the sky.
What you do not see here on this blog is that sometimes my painting from one day is so messy that it seeps in to other drawing. So the sky in day 15 looks a bit more green now.

Day 15 "I Look to You"~ Miami Horror Ft. Kimbra

I wish I was Kimbra. In my opinion she is the prettiest girl alive. I had the privilege of seeing her the first time she ever came to New York (she opened for Gotye). I love the visuals in the music video so instead of coming up with something in my head I drew part of the music video. Kimbra sings all the vocals in this song by the way.

Here is Kimbra in all her glory:

Day 14 "Shut Me Up"~ Mindless Self Indulgence

This song reminds me of middle school. When I was reading Johnny the Homicidal Maniac the author/artist directed the music video for this song so then I listened to Mindless Self Indulgence more.
And yes, I am making fun of Starbucks. It is pricey as hell and it is all hipsters blog about.

Day 13 "My Love"~ Lykke Li

Sorry I haven't been good a updating lately. Since I've had the same dosage of prozac since I was 7 or 8 they finally decided to boost my dosage recently making my hands very shaky (and hard to paint).

Lykke Li is super. She is this cool singer from Sweden. The lyrics I put here reminds me of the forest singing for some reason. Now I want to go back to Vermont and listen to the night song of nature.

Day 11 "Girl Anachronism"~ The Dresden Dolls

My favorite Dresden Dolls song but I don't like how this day came out. Those lyrics always pop out to me every time I listen to the song.

the song:

Day 10 "Brick by Brick"~ The Arctic Monkeys

One of my favorite songs from Arctic Monkeys' album Suck it and See. I had an idea similar to this drawing for a STAC commercial where it is two people dressed similarly building a brick wall and the bricks might have information about STAC live or night while the song plays.

Day 9 "Honeybee"~ Steam Powered Giraffe

I don't like how this day came out. I kind of rushed the whole thing.

I'm still not quite sure how I feel about Steam Powered Giraffe. Their music is nice but they creep me out. Would that be magnet?

They dress and move like robots but sing nice songs. That's where I got the toy in love with the owner idea from.

Watch this video of the song:

am I weird to be a little creeped out by them.

Day 8- "Why Even Try"~ Theophilus London

Sorry it's been a while since I last posted. My play was last week so rehearsals were really late so my time was none.

Day 7 "Elysium" ~LostAlone

I dream to see LostAlone in concert one day. They never came to America because they are not big enough to have a tour here so they open for good bands when they tour in Europe. But girl can dream.

Day 6 "Bubblegum Bitch" ~Marina and the Diamonds

*Sugar
I have to get my shit together.
Hopefully I will not go to hell for making Adventure Time's Princess Bubblegum look like a whore. I also hope I will be able to see Marina and the Diamonds next month in concert. Is it cannibalism if Princess Bubblegum chews gum? Probably. I hope the social activists won't come after me.

Day 5 "Thoughts of a Dying Atheist" ~Muse

Please excuse my spelling error. I don't feel like fixing it. ***Atheist
Every single time I see the title of this song I get stunned. It brings so many thoughts to my mind. How scary that could be for somebody who doesn't believe anything happens after death and your end is coming soon. Religiously I don't know what to believe. I personally hope something happens after I die but I won't know that until I die. Dying is one of my greatest fears because of the unknown. I imagined a dying patient falling off a patient onto traffic. This song comes up in my ipod a lot when I am in the city so that could be why I probably imagine falling off the very tall buildings.

If you can't read my handwriting the lyrics I wrote are:
"I know the moments near
and there's nothing we can do
look through a faithless eye
are you afraid to die?
And it scares the hell out of me
the end is all I can see"

Day 4 "Coming Back"~ Gotye

"Coming Back" by Gotye. I think this is one of my favorite songs on his album Like Drawing Blood. Whenever I listen to the song I get this little mind-music video in my head that is in the style of a silent film with a quote and then the visual. I think what I drew here was the scenario that a woman kills the guy she loves and then goes in denial about him being dead.

Day 3 "I'm Not the One"~ The Black Keys

I hope you notice the guy who got arrested is sleeping. I used to think the lyrics were "I was born tired I've never got arrested" thinking it was a pun saying I never got a-rested but it was just "I was born tired never got rested". I like my version better to be honest. Maybe because I am tired most of the time and I don't have a criminal record.

Day 2 "Boy Division" ~ My Chemical Romance

You may soon learn that My Chemical Romance is my favorite band ever. I used lyrics from one of their new singles "Boy Division".
If you can't read my unattractive handwriting the lyrics are:
"Until all my capillaries
 burst of boredom
I'll be waiting
I'm not laughing
You're not joking
I'm not dead
I only dress that way-"
Here is the song:

Day 1- "All We Ever Wanted Was Everything"~Bahaus covered by MGMT

"All We Ever Wanted Was Everything" is a song by Bauhaus but I listened to MGMT's cover on the album Late Night Tales: MGMT. I cut up the Delia's and Ikea magazine. If you look closely you can find each member of One Direction.

Here it is:

Beginning

Hello!
I'm Sarah if you don't know, and this is a new attempt at a 365. Last time I tried a 365 I was a freshman and I failed around day 50. I think what made me fail the 365 last time was I made my rules too hard. To get what I wanted done each day soon showed to not be possible. It also wasn't something I enjoyed.

This time around in my Junior year of high school I wanted to make this more enjoyable, and more possible. I decided to do a drawing that relates to a song I'm listening to. I listen to music everyday so why can't I also do a drawing every day? This is to get a drawing out every day for a year. 365 song related doodles.
I'm actually excited to see them all.

I guess I have to draw them first.
